Night of the Living Dead the Musical

By: JustChuck; September 26th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Night of the Living Dead – The Musical staring Jackson Schultz as Ben and Emily Fuller as Barbara.  As well as a whole slew of other zombies and snack characters.  The play starts out in the 60’s.  The dead are rising due to one of the usual reasons and we have our core cast assembled to try and find a way to survive.
This is an incredibly great show for the money.  All the blood and quirky humor you can handle.  There is a disembodied hand that makes a number of appearances during the show.  At one point it gives ‘the finger’ to one of the other cast members.  Emily does a great job singing, even if she has a crazy family to sing about.
I, being a hard grader, was thinking of giving this play 4 out 5 stars.  But after thinking about how much cleaning up and laundry the cast has to do, I think we can give this play a 5 out of 5 on the Community Theater scale.  I highly recommend spending the $15 and seeing this community jewel.
Comments received from viewers:
“A hell of a lot better than that ‘Haunting’ crap you dragged us off to in Elgin.”
“The best community theater play I have ever scene”
“Did you see the cute guy with the beard in the back of the theater? (never said the comments were all about the play)”
Update: Information regarding this musical can be found at the Riverfront Playhouse website. Riverfront Playhouse is located in downtown Aurora, Illinois.

Chuck, are you supposed to include your own comments in your list of overheard comments?
