Today is the First of May. In celebration, let’s listen as JoCo celebrates. By the way, I think the two guys in the back are hilarious.

On the other hand, the song is apparently inspired by an ancient poem. More information can be found here and here. My favorite comment is in the last link in which the commenter noted that a friend’s mother said “Oh, we used to jump rope to a similar rhyme when I was a kid.”

Card Sharp on Podcastle by Rajan Khanna

I love the Escape Artists collection of podcasts: Escape Pod, Pseudopod, and PodCastle. For some reason, although I read a lot, I have never really enjoyed reading short fiction. These podcasts allow me to experience some great short fiction in a format that I enjoy consuming them. Often when I am listening to a story, I will think that some element would be great to incorporate in to a game.

Recently, however, on PodCastle, I listened to the story Card Sharp, by Rajan Khanna. From the moment that I first learned how the magic in this story worked, I wanted to create a character that used a deck of cards like this.

Regardless, I urge you to listen to Card Sharp and let it inspire your next game.
