StarGate Ark of Truth

By: JustChuck; September 1st, 2008 · No Comments

Sam Carter

Tonight I decided to watch StarGate ‘Ark of Truth” onDemand.  This movie was fairly well done.  Typical Us versus the Ori.  Basically like an extra long episode of the series, one of the good episodes and not one of the extra fluffy should never had been filmed ones.
We see the return of Sarah Strange [...]

Indy 4 Follow Up

By: Bryan; June 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

I said before that I thought the story in Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was crap. However, I still enjoyed the movie.
I have found two great posts that point out just a few of the problems with the story. First is the abridged script.
The abridged script from the begining of the movie:

HARRISON [...]

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

By: Bryan; May 27th, 2008 · 1 Comment

On Friday I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with the family. I thought that the background story line about the crystal skull, etc. was crap. Essentially George Lucas circa Star Wars Episode 1, crap. In reality, however, that doesn’t really matter. The background story is nothing but the MacGuffin anyway.
The [...]

Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

By: Bryan; April 10th, 2007 · No Comments

Few things are cooler than having your kids like the classic movies that you love. Several weeks ago, we watched The Princess Bride. Both kids seemed to really enjoy the movie. For several days afterward our three year old would walk around saying “inconceivable” at some of the funniest times.
For Easter, the Bunny brought Cinderella, [...]

Klingon Programmers

By: Dave; April 5th, 2007 · No Comments

Top 10 things likely to be overheard if you had a Klingon on your software development team:

“This code is a piece of crap! You have no honor!”
“A TRUE Klingon warrior does not comment his code!”
“By filing this bug you have questioned my family honor. Prepare to die!”
“You question the worthiness [...]

Review: Night at the Museum

By: Bryan; March 6th, 2007 · No Comments

I saw Night at the Museum over the weekend. When this movie first came out I was not terribly interested in seeing it. However, it was playing on IMAX near us, and my wife wanted to see it. It is clearly not going to make it onto the list of the 100 best movies ever.
Nevertheless, [...]

Review: This Film is Not Yet Rated

By: Bryan; February 26th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Not long ago, Wil Wheaton mentioned that he had watched This Film Is Not Yet Rated. Wil gave the movie “4.5 out of 5, and the official WWdN Happy Monkey of Goodness Seal of Approval.”
After watching the movie, I agree with Wil. The film, a documentary, deals with the MPAA and the manner in which [...]
